Sarah Brewer joined iCivics in 2023 as a Curriculum Associate. After ten years teaching middle school U.S. history, she coached teachers and wrote social studies curriculum in her role as a Social Studies Curriculum Specialist with the K20 Center at the University of Oklahoma. She has also served in OU’s College of Education as an instructor, teaching social studies foundations courses for pre-service educators and as a field supervisor, supporting pre-service social studies education students throughout their internship semester. She holds a B.S. in Social Studies Education and a M.Ed. in Instructional Leadership and Academic Curriculum from the University of Oklahoma.

Sarah was born and raised in Norman, Oklahoma and continues to make it her home with her spouse and their two kids. She enjoys a good fantasy novel, drinking decaf coffee, getting outside and spending time with family and friends.
