Chief Justice John G. Roberts was born in Buffalo, New York. He moved to Indiana when he was in the 4th grade. In high school, Chief Justice Roberts was the captain of the football team and editor of the school newspaper at his all-male, private Catholic high school. Chief Justice Roberts was a very good student, who also participated in wrestling and in a musical play. He spent summers working at his father’s steel plant. Chief Justice Roberts became the Chief Justice of the United States on September 29th, 2005. At the age of 50, he was the youngest Chief Justice in over 200 years.
