Justice O’Connor Video Thanks Teachers

May 22, 2013

iCivics Teachers,

Back in December, we asked you for feedback and comments on your iCivics experience to share with Justice O'Connor.

Justice O'Connor was overwhelmed by your response! We received incredibly helpful insights into how we can improve the lesson plans, what you like (and don't like) about the games, and directions you might like to see iCivics explore.

Mary Watkins, from Eustis Middle School in Eustis, Florida, told us, "The iCivics website has been a fountain of information for me, one that I've come back to many times this year to drink from. . . . iCivics has brought government to life for my students."

Justice O'Connor was particularly taken with Mary's note, and was moved to record this video to respond to all of you:

In the video, Justice O'Connor states, "The iCivics team and I stand ready to help you however we can." We are 100% devoted to this task, and encourage you to continue collaborating with us to improve your experience with iCivics. Contact us at any time, and we hope you had a great school year.

Sincerely,

P.S. National Survey: At the start of the school year (in August), we'll send you a survey that digs more deeply into this feedback. We are focused on improving how we serve iCivics teachers, and this survey is crucial in meeting that goal. Stay tuned, as there will be fun prizes (including drawings for autographed copies of Justice O'Connor's new book, Out of Order: Stories from the History of the Supreme Court) for completing the survey!
