Coordinator, Educating for American Democracy
Tori Saia joined iCivics in December 2021 as the Educating for American Democracy Coordinator. With over 5 years of experience in various K-12 settings, Tori has dedicated her time to working alongside young people in education because she believes deeply in the power of young people to better our world. She has three years of teaching experience in the Greater Boston area, most recently teaching 9th grade ELA in Chelsea, MA. Before becoming a teacher, she worked as a program coordinator at a K-8 school in Rhode Island, supporting middle grades teachers and students as they piloted social and civic action programming.
She graduated from Tufts University in 2019 with her MAT in Secondary English Education, and from Columbia University in 2016 with a dual degree in Psychology and Women’s and Gender Studies. When not working, Tori is probably out on a long walk, looking for a new book to read, or baking (a lot).
