Our Annual Report
February 19, 2014
2013 was a banner year for iCivics. As we close out our fiscal year, this Annual Report provides an opportunity to reflect on where we have been, where we are today, and the work ahead.
Since our founding, iCivics has been dedicated to empowering teachers with effective and engaging resources to develop the next generation of citizens. Thanks to support from our national and regional champions, the iCivics teacher network tripled this year with 35,000 educators across 9,000 schools adopting our resources. We developed more cutting-edge lesson plans and curriculum units than ever before, and students across the country played iCivics games an astonishing 5.9 million times this year.

And here’s the best part: we are only just beginning. Approximately half of all middle school social studies teachers in the U.S. rely on iCivics – a significant milestone to reach in four years. As that network continues to grow, we are optimistic that together we can rise to the challenge of developing an engaged and informed generation of students.
As a nonprofit organization, we meet this challenge through the generous financial support of numerous individuals, corporations, and foundations. For everyone so inspired by our work that you contributed to iCivics, thank you for helping us continue to improve and grow.
We are grateful for your dedication and service.
