Carbon dioxide emissions are local, but their effects are global. There are one hundred and ninety four countries on this globe, big and small; and while their boundaries are fixed, we all share the air we breathe. No matter who contributes how much to the CO2 burden, all nations suffer together. And, the USA is one of the largest producers of carbon dioxide in the world. During a time when there are major differences between developed and developing nations as how to mitigate global warming, Project Jatropha (projectjatropha.com) aims to demonstrate the commitment of the youth in developed countries to environmental issues that affect the developing nations as well. In 2009, we launched a new endeavor Global Call to Youth (GCY), A massive tree planting and environmental education program involving youth across the world. By 2010 September, we finished planting  23,000  useful forestry saplings which includes teak, silver oak, pongamia etc by involving  260 farmers and 33 rural schools from close to 14 villages near our project site.
